The New York Flamenco Certamen

Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana and the Center for Flamenco Arts are pleased to announce the third New York Flamenco Certamen. The only competition of its kind in New York, the Flamenco Certamen provides a spotlight for emerging talent while fostering the continued development and exposure of the flamenco art form. Similar to regional dance competitions that take place throughout Spain, and part of Flamenco Vivo’s growing partnership with Madrid’s prestigious El Certamen de Coreografía de Danza Española y Flamenco, this competition will provide a platform for emerging flamenco artists to showcase their work. Previous finalists have gone on to produce their own shows, perform with Flamenco Vivo II, and teach in our arts eduction programs.
