Alfonso Cid

In this fun and interactive class taught by "cantaor" Alfonso Cid students will learn the "letras" (lyrics) of traditional "cante" for various "palos" (styles) while also learning how to accompany with "palmas", the rhythmic handclapping in Flamenco.

This class is perfect for those students who would like to further expand their Flamenco singing knowledge, and for those who as dancers, would like to apply it to their dancing and choreography creations.

Each class runs for 1.5 hours. The first 30 minutes are dedicated to vocal technique, with a focus on diaphragmatic breathing, voice placement ("impostación"), Flamenco scales, the history of the "palo," and essential musical terminology. The remaining hour is spent learning and perfecting the repertoire we’ll be working on throughout the course.

Monday Hybrid Classes (In-Person & Online): Held at BOMAA (Beauty Of Music And Art Studio), located at

Thursday Online Classes: Held via Zoom.

To enhance our learning community, a Signal chat room will be set up for sharing materials, music, and videos related to the class. 

Google Drive documents will be shared, including lyrics in both Spanish and English, as well as music tracks—with and without my singing—so you can practice at your own pace.

Each class will be recorded on Zoom. Class attendees will recieve the link to the class recording once it is processed in the Zoom website.

No previous knowledge of Spanish is required. Classes will be given in English.

Monday Hybrid Classes: $150 for a 4-class package. Package will be valid for 4 consecutive classes. If you miss a class, you’ll receive the recording. A minimum of 10 students is required to cover instruction, studio, and guitarist costs.

Thursday Online Classes: $35 per single class, $170 for a 5-class package, or $325 for a 10-class package. A minimum of 5 students is required.
