Abandolaos, also called bandolás, fandangos locales, or verdiales. What are they?

They are a sub-genre of fandangos with many melodic variations we find in towns and villages throughout Andalusia, even Extremadura, Murcia and Valencia, therefore the use of the term “local fandangos”. We will delve into their origins in the bolero dance period, its history, rhythm, musical structure and their stanzas.

Yuling Spanish Dance is thrilled to welcome our guest artist Alfonso Cid back to present the lecture of “Cantes Abandolaos Class With Alfonso Cid.” This lecture is for dancers, musicians and anyone interested in Flamenco!

The price of the lecture is only $25 and current students at Yuling Spanish Dance receive $5 discount!!! (A video recording will be available for reviewing from Feb 13th to Feb 19th)

Karvouna Flamenco shows are back! We're kicking off 2023 with a stellar line-up staring revered Flamenco dancer, published author and flamencologist Meira Goldberg "La Meira"with dancer Xianix Barrera, guitarist Adrián Alvarado and singer Alfonso Cid.

Two sets at 7:00pm & 9:00pm.

Tickets are $20 (includes both performances).

Note: table seats are on a first come-first serve basis. There's a $20 minimum consumption per guest. 42 seats maximum capacity.
