Hosted by Espacio de Arte. All levels, two day Bulerias and Cante workshops with Melinda Hedgecorth (Baile) and Alfonso Cid (Cante) accompanied by guitarist Jed Miley. Bulerias workshops 12-2pm Saturday Sept. 7th and 10-12pm Sunday Sept. 8th. This Bulerias workshop is a collaborative all inclusive one! Each day Alfonso will teach a half hour of cante for dancers and Melinda will teach a half hour of movement, then participants will have an hour each day to try things out and get coached along the way. Participants should feel free to try out their own movements when improvising as well, and there will be an element of surprise as the participants will not know which of the letras learned will be sang, thus good opportunities to test out patadas in a supportive and learning environment.Cante only participants will be with Alfonso for the whole first hour and then trade off opportunities to sing with Alfonso for the dancers.Plus Melinda will teach Martinete with baston Saturday Sept. 7th 2-3pm and Sunday Sept. 8th 12-1pm, with solo compas for the higher level.
